Formula

Cubic Yards = (Area × Depth in inches) / 324

Cubic Feet = (Area × Depth in inches) / 12

Bags Needed = Cubic Yards / 0.33 (for 2 cu ft bags)

Mulch Density:
Wood Chips: 1.4 lbs/cubic foot
Bark Mulch: 1.6 lbs/cubic foot
Pine Straw: 0.8 lbs/cubic foot

Example:
500 sq ft at 3" depth
Cubic Yards = (500 × 3) / 324 = 4.63 yards
Bags = 4.63 / 0.33 = 14 bags
